The are many ways to be seduced by the world, the list is endless, but understand this, the seduction comes from your own mind and although the world provides the way, you alone attach to it.
If you’re reading, studying, meditating and whatnot to live a spiritual life, but you don’t know your own mind, it’s like having hundreds of recipes to bake a cake, but not actually making one. Granted this is better than nothing, but if you can’t distinguish between love and hate, this and that or attachment to all the rest, what good is it, the whole point is being missed. Because of the subduction of the outside world, it’s very difficult to look inward. There are so many things in place that prevent this from happening, but if it doesn’t happen one remains engulfed in these trapping. And that’s all they are because when there is even the slightest of opens to allow this to be seen, one’s expansion begins.
The seduction of the world is very enticing, if it wasn’t the percentage of conscious and unconscious beings would be reversed, but it’s not this way because the seduction is in control. This seduction is real to a degree, it’s there, there’s no ignoring it, but why it’s in control is because there’s a fictitious belief that it’s needed. We are the creators of this, not someone else, and if one doesn’t become familiar with their own mind, the seduction continues its control; there’s really no way around this.
The aversion one has to the worldly seductions makes it more enticing, this keeps one in the prison of the Conditioned Mind. There are many ways to be seduced by the world, there is only one way to be free. And as I stated earlier, read all you want, study until you know it all, meditate until you reach the state you think will bring you nirvana, but if you don’t know your own mind, it’s like having a hundred recipes to bake a cake, but never actually making one.
