Every moment, regardless if there’s awareness of it or not, a decision is made on what view is going to be used. An outer view provides the things of the world while an inner one provides peace.
Our outer manifestations are the result of our inner view and although one doesn’t have much input when life begins or ends, there is input in what goes on in between those times. What’s decided determines the energy emitted to the world and if it’s of peace or drama. The more that worldly things are held onto, the less inner quietness there will be and the less peaceful energy there will be. You can’t have the best of both worlds, you can enjoy both, but the base of one’s existence will be one or the other. Love will be the base of existence or satisfying worldly desires will be the base of existence. This is the human dilemma; live to satisfy self and emit that energy to the world or live in the love provided by the Universe and emit that energy. Both have their benefits, it’s just that the energy emitted to the world is so different.
The outer view provides material satisfactions and the inner view provides peace. If this is truly understood one will be provided with a place where few are willing to go. There isn’t any fault in not understanding this, it’s just that these differences aren’t formally taught in our society. One can only live life with the tools they’re provided with and taught how to use. And unfortunately what is taught by society is to get as much as one can from the outer world because the more you have the happier you’ll be. This is the great fallacy of life.
Keep chasing the satisfaction of outer things and you’ll keep chasing the satisfaction of outer things; things will never provide the peace that one is truly after. Lie after lie occurs with each thing that’s reached for, if the outer view was truly the way, once a certain amount of things were attained it would be enough, but it’s never enough because there will always be one more thing desired. This is the nature of the outer view.
So turning the view inward would seem to make more sense, but if the understanding and awareness of the differences of the outer and inner view is to occur, it will have to be discovered for yourself. Without a settled mind the differences will not be understood and one will just continue living their life with the outer view; which is the view that most have been taught. It’s not that one view is right right and one is wrong or one is better than the other, but the differences between the two and as stated before this has to be discovered for yourself, is only one view provides true satisfaction.
