Most people consider life perfect if everything is going their way, but life is perfect as it is, so if one isn’t careful their entire life can be spent constantly changing what’s already perfect.
It’s said that no one can have the perfect life, but what is the perfect life? Would it be perfect if it was exactly in the way that you wanted it? If that was the case then the saying is true, no one can have the perfect life because it will never be the way that you want it all the time. But even if it was, that wouldn’t mean it was perfect, it would just mean it’s the way that you want it. The perfect life is the life you are given. It can’t be anything but that, because it’s what’s there.
This is where our struggles are derived from, thinking if life was different it would be perfect, but how can something that is already perfect be improved upon. Perfection cannot be improved. When a perfect game is pitched in baseball, nothing changed will make it more perfect. If a basketball player makes ten shots that he tries, he is perfect. Now you can say the pitcher could have thrown less pitches or the basketball player could have made every basket without hitting the rim, but it would not have changed the perfection.
Life is similar, we look for all kinds of ways to improve on its perfection, but regardless of what is done it doesn’t change the perfection of the way that it is. No outer circumstance can change the perfection of what is. This is the main reason people are in constant “seeking perfection mode” and use so many different things to try and attain it, but never reach it because they don’t realize perfection is already there. So they seek perfection and want to change something which is already perfect. Maybe changes are made to make you think you have achieved a perfect state, but if that was the case things would never need to change again and you would never seek again.
Life is always the way that it is and that’s what makes it perfect. It cannot be altered in a way to make it more perfect because then it wouldn’t have been perfect in the first place. Be with the perfection of life as it’s given, make all the changes you think you need, but understand you are only trying to improve on what you think will make life perfect because it’s already perfect just as it is.
