There’s a natural state of peace that’s experienced when one stops doing and understands to just be. But if this is something sought after and made into a doing, one’s natural state of peace won’t be.
It hasn’t been my experience that knowledge about spirituality brings about ones natural state of peace. To me it actually becomes a deterrent because it mask ones state of peace with the ego. That’s part of the egos lure, to present lies to keep one enticed, but the lies are used as a dangling carrot. Thinking one knows it all and making up whatever world is thought to be needed is everyone’s right, but I have found there is a direct link to the amount of peace in my life and the amount of what I think I know. When I can just be and not need to add anything to what is known, there’s a peace that is naturally there without having to know any more or make something up. This is the peace that Jesus spoke of that passes all understanding, but one doesn’t need to understand it because it arises naturally, one just needs to be.
